Grave II.A.1. Son of William John and Mary Ellen Grady, of 61, York Rd, Aldershot. Born at Longford, Ireland. Served with Cape Colony Defence Force. Also served in German SW Africa and Egypt (Source : C.W.G.C.). Wounded in Delville Wood on the 19th July 1916. 4th S.A.I., A Company Killed in action on the 12th April 1917 in the improvised and disastrous attack of the 9th (Scottish) Division on the German positions in the East of Fampoux. The 4th SAI lost 6 officers and 200 men. |
