Grave I.F.39. Son of Mrs M.J. Edkins, of Alberton, Germiston, Transvaal (Source : C.W.G.C.). Wounded in Delville Wood on the 16th July 1916. Killed in action on the 18th October 1916. Age 22. During the night of the 18-19th October, a company of the 3rd S.A.I. moved forward to the front line in Pearse's Trench. Declared missing in action, his body was found after the war. |
